REFULGENT SAVAGE JED REVIEW

JED - UNIT REVIEW AND ANALYSIS

Lol, Jed looks like a Jed(i) with his Lightsabers, clearly a reference to Star wars. Pretty cool huh? But let's see if he is a unit that we have to die for!

Quick Unit review and Analysis
  • Slightly above average Atk, flat spead for other stats. Definitely nothing special.
  • His Arena potential is the same as his stats - Usable but not worth mentioning. 27 Drop checks, AoE BB, Light-element attack but frankly, there are far more better options.
  • His LS brings something new to the table. It is merely a 50% boost in BB gauge fill rate until the squad received at least 30 BC/HC. 4BC fill/turn and burst heal for 2 turns is nice and slightly better than similar LS. But it could be tricky to activate the LS when you have to face game contents with BC/HC drop resistances.
    • Even though the buffs that this LS gives do stack with purely passive regen effects or BB/SBB/UBB buffs, they do not stack with themseves. Hence, you would never use double Jed leader.
  • His ES provides a 5BC fill/turn buff ro his BB and SBB (caution: not for UBB). This is one of those cases where an ES can be detrimental, as you might have a better BC regen buff in your squad and have to work around it. It's fine if you can build a squad where it doesn't clash.
  • His BB is so similar to that of Charis. It is an AoE with a 35% BC/HC drop rate buff with lower hit counts. Not much to say about it
  • Jed's SBB keeps the same effects as BB and add a buff of 10% chance to reduce 20% Atk for your whole squad. In general, we can say that Jed is Griel version 2.0 with higher numbers and a different element. 10% chance of 20% Atk reduction is equivalent to about average 2% Atk reduction (meh).
  • Finally, his UBB offers 100% chance to reduce 80% Atk and adds a 100% Ares buff. Even though, it has great synergies with his BC drop buff, I would prefer massive BC regen over Ares effect simply because Aress buff is not going to work effectively if BC drop is resisted.
Jed is definitely not a stellar unit. Arguably a strict upgrade over Griel unless you're using her LS, but he has got a finicky LS with no HP/passive defense that takes a bit of work before it activates properly and maybe neutered by trial content, and an all-too-common buff set at this point. He is plenty usable, but for any role you can think of using him in, there are plenty of units that already fill it and he has to struggle to replace them.
He is usable and strong, but he is not somebody I'd have an urge to pull, not is he somebody that makes squad building more interesting - the only thing to think about is who not to use him with because of that ES.

  1. I think his ubb is his best feature, 1200% aoe is nice, and 80% attack down for 2 turns is great for harder content

    1. Yes! His UBB provides one of the best Atk down debuff. But other than that, it is quite a mediocre UBB. 1200% AoE UBB is pretty much the standard for any 7* unit nowadays. And in the era when many units can provide 4 or even 5 buffs with their SBB/UBB, Jed will have to struggle to get a slot in your squad!

    1. If you need a bit more damage and a mediocre BC per turn, you can get away with Jed. But in terms of BC/HC support and utility, I would prefer Feeva (pretty much same numbers but Feeva has better dropchecks and lower BB/SBB cost). Moreover, Feeva can also buff your squad's Atk/Def/Rec. In the end, it is important to consider all your units and try to minimize buff clash.
