ADEL - UNIT REVIEW AND ANALYSIS
Adel batch is supposed to be the 8th 7-star batch in Brave Frontier. However, for some unknown reasons, Gumi decided to skip this batch and only release them after Avant batch.
Let's find out what these units can contribute to your squad!

Quick Unit review and Analysis:
- A fire unit with Defensive stats and Imp spread. He still has a decent Atk but surely can't be a nuker.
- In general, Adel has a perfectly usable Drop checks, AI, LS and BB for arena, but won't e top tier any time soon.
- His LS is reminiscent of Bestie, but ultimately you trade a lot of BC gen for just a little bit of extra defense. With how mitigation works now, chance-based mitigation LS are weaker than ever.
- His ES gives him a nice BC fill when attacked, which is good - he is a mitigator and mitigators need BC. Given his BC costs, I don't think it's quite enough though.
- His BB is an AoE that adds 70% Spark damage for 3 turns, and mitigation for 1 turn. Its most notable weakness is the BC cost - at 28 BC, he's tied with Krantz for the title "Most expensive BB Mitigator". Or, he would be, but Krant'z ES brings his cost down to 22.4. Adel's ES helps a lot here, but he needs to take an average of 3 hits before he's better off than Krantz.
- Spark damage is arguably weaker than Krantz' elemental buffs when they're relevant, and Krants also has status cleansing on BB, so I'd be inclined to say Krantz has the better BB when he is relevant, but Adel has more globally usable buffs
- His SBB is an AoE with the same buffs, and added regen healing. It's also the single most expensive SBB mitigation, and unlike Krantz' ES scaling to SBB. Adel's doesn't. Krantz will heal more, but regen has got an important niche at the moment. Still, with a BC cost of 48, this would be hard to maintain without dropping mitigation for a turn unless you run dual mitigators.
- His UBB is just... more of the same. Stronger mitigation, stronger spark buff. It's a 2 turn 75% mitigation UBB, so it is usable, but it's not doing anything spectacular
Krantz is Adel's most direct and obvious comparison - both AoE, both mitigate, both have a damage multiplying buff, both heal on SBB. Overall, though? I think Krantz is better in any situation where his element buffs help. There are other choices for spark buffs and regen buffs than Adel - choices that don't have to BB on demand and struggle to ever use SBB.
But hey, he looks cool and Krantz' elements only matter in about half of the content of the game (despite being a thrid of the elements... Alim sure love trials with light/dark bosses).
Last but not least, Adel is the only Fire mitigator until now. So if you want a mono fire squad and desperately need a mitigator, Adel is your choice!

Only Fire Mitigator...What about Darvanshel?
ReplyDeleteMaybe they meant the only 7* fire mitigator.
