Dork

Say hello to better Zelban the dorky one, Dork. A very good mitigator you can get atm, if you don't have a decent one, I recommend getting this bad boy. Able to block elemental DMG and 35% to all stats on Leader Skill, he's quite decent. He also gives mitigation and a DEF Buff on SBB/ BB and is able to clean status aliments on BB, pretty much everything you need cept for HoT. His ES with boost to BC/ HC droprate somewhat makes up for that.

Elimo

One of the best mitigators you can get, can heal, clear status, mitigater, and add a DEF buff, also providing a nice ES, "Reduction in BB gauge required for BB" which pretty much can possibly provide you SBB every turn regardless of # of enemies. Did I mention her UBB is pretty godly too? Recovers HP for all allies for 3 turns, negates all status ailments, reduces damage taken by 75% & boosts BB gauge when attacked. Overall, really good (besides leader skill) I would recommend getting her if you don't have her already.

Krantz
|
One of the newest mitigator added to global, and part of the expedition batch, Krantz! Depending on yoiur situation and squad, he's a unit that requires to sometime use BB, or SBB (/play around with them). Can attack on BB and such, add light and dark, remove status, has a reduction in BB on ES, heals, and if you run a rainbow squad with him as leader, gives a nice BC and HC drop rate and HP and ATK boost! His UBB is quite nice as well, giving a ATK boost relative to DEF and 75% mitigation! What more can you ask for. Overall, very worth if you need someone among the lines of adding light and dark, healing and mitigating (removing status as well)

STATUS CLEANERS on BB/ SBB/ UBB
Probably needed in like almost situation, since bosses status like a bitch in certain challenges.

Melchio /Reeze
|
Can cure and make everyone immune to status, both are not bad choices, if you're looking for more DMG on non-light enemies I would say Melchio is better, otherwise Reeze is better choice. ( Also if you have more units with more ATK then REC and need DEF buff, then Melchio if vice versa Reeze)

Semira
|
Say hello to the recently upgraded Halloween unit, Semira, coming back better then before! One of the most interesting status cleanser... Able to negate status and if you have her ES unlocked, also able to clean them, not only that she can inflict status on any enemies prone to them which is very interesting. Also if you need a BC/ HC boost Semira also covers that on SBB. Leader skill is pretty good if you run a light and dark squad. Overall great status cleaner unit to have, if you need more Semira would be a good choice.

Sargavel
|
Yay for thunder horse! Quite an amazing status dealer, He is able to cure and nullify status aliments (includes Debuff) on units for 3 turn on Both BB/ SBB AND gives a Ares buff, to make units gain BB even faster which is quite amazing. Also having an ES of nullifying status to self, making him able to not require a status nullify sphere and give him another useful one, he is quite underrated and is a very good unit, leader skill wise, is ok they're better ones out there. Overall, great for status problems, if you don't have enough status nullifies units, Sargavel is quite fit for the job.

Anima
|
Aurelia
|
The "mom" figure of the SBS crew, On BB able to cure and nullify status with a bonus of HoT effect, while on SBB having a nice REC -> DEF conversion, heal, and 4 BC fill per turn buff she makes quite a good unit for filling in roles. Con of her is that you will have to play around with BB/ SBB depending on your situation. Her UBB is quite godly;

Anima

DEF BUFFERS BB/ SBB/ UBB
Used to survive more (unless ignore DEF), this is probably very important since mitigation might not always help out and finish the job, this is where DEF comes in and helps units be more tanky then before, having DEF could probably be the key to finishing a hard hitting content like Lira's GGC for ex.

Tridon
|
Probably the best DEF buffer you can get, even though he doesn't have much offensive, Tridon comes in handy when tanking in hits, shield with 3000DEF? That's no joke SBB, don't forget his 140% DEF on all units as well. .-.
|
Anima

Dork
|
A mitigator and DEF buff... Only better, providing status cleanse/ nullifies, has a usable LS, and could ATK this is one of the most interesting DEF buffer you can get, depending on your ATK that is. Already having a DEF Buff of 130 on BB is really good for a DEF Buff, but he also has a 35% ATK -> DEF conversion buff, so like I said, depending on your ATK you can have a pretty good amount of DEF on your team. Overall, a pretty good unit you can have.
|
Anima
|
Elimo
|
A DEF buffer that can heal allies and mitigate? That's crazy, but it's true, with even a little amount of BC needed to fill to Max SBB she can be one of the best DEF buffers in the game atm making her very good.
|
Anima
|
Deimos
|
One of the best tankers out in there atm, able to take hits like a boss. Providing a taunt to take hard single hits with a 250% DEF buff to self as well, and is able to provide a 100% ATK, DEF, and REC buff to all units in the team and not making him "selfish." His Leader Skill and Extra Skill HP boosts providing him with more HP helps out and is able to continue taking all the hard single hits and probably not dying.

BB GAUGE FILL WHEN ATTACKED BB/ SBB/ UBB
This is another important key to beating certain content due to lack of BC gen. and need just a little more to get full SBB, where getting attacked will help get your BB gauge up when you most need it, could possibly help you in your a sticky situation and are about to run out of fujins in like a trial.

Probably the best BB fill when ATK'd unit you can get. Not just for that, but also for her BB/ SBB being the enemy of Dark enemies with the elemental weakness boost and the nice 120% to all stats (Not including HP), making her really useful for certain content, especially ones with dark bosses that needed to be cleared quickly. Leader Skill is quite good as well, with a 30% HP boost and 100%-0 depending HP lost AND a 0-100% DEF boost depending on HP lost, making her leader skill quite good for certain situations.

Libera
|
Here's sort of a new unit that arrived in Global, Libera! Also having fill BB gauge on hit, she also provides a "adds earth and thunder elements to attack" for all allies which can help boost in a little more damage onto thunder or water enemies, also providing additional more damage is the REC -> ATK conversion which will also lead to even more damage, not much, but still more. BB is also quite good if you're in need for a good DEF and REC boost and boost in BC/ HC droprates (meaning juggling around between the two if you want both effects).
|
Anima
|
Bestie
|
The life saver for most people's journeys through Frontier Gate... Bestie! First off her LS is amazing, providing a 30% boost to HP and DEF and reduction in BB, she can be amazing during trials for getting BB up fast and being able to take strong hits against enemies, ES can also help (gives more hit to self) gain more BC drops when normal attacking and be useful in Arena as well. Now towards her BB fill when ATk'd SBB, she gives that buff and a Ares buff, which is quite great if you're in a bind and need BB to go up faster. Overall great unit to be used, leader skill is great and SBB is great as well for faster BB, her role is mainly to help get BB as fast as possible.
|
Anima
|
HEAL OVER TIME BUFFERS
Note: Tridon also has HoT on BB, but you will have to juggle around on when to use his BB for HoT or SBB for other things (BC/ HC droprate) depending on your situation, same for Aurelia cept deciding on just heal (SBB) or if you want HoT (SBB)
What I call "The savior of DoT (Damage over time)" , HoT can be really helpful during sticky situations especially when you're fighting a boss who is always inflicting DoT on your units or you don't have a healer in the squad and sometimes HC drops is lacking.

Charla
|
Can I just say this unit does everything except attack then leave? Who knew the mother of Themis and Ivris would be so good. First off her Leader Skill: providing a ares boost, BB gauge fill when attacked, 15% BC droprate and 40% HP and DEF boost this isn't just a regular unit, this is a goddess. BB being mainly support: 4BC Fill 1Turn / 7BC Fill 3Turns / Heal (ALL) / Cure Ails / Gradual Heal (ALL) 3Turns , while having a offensive SBB: 6BC Fill 1Turn / 80% Chance 1-3BC Fill on Spark (ALL) 3Turns / 60% CRIT+ (ALL) 3Turns / 75% CRIT DMG+ (ALL) 3Turns / 100% Spark DMG+ (ALL) 3Turn. UBB is extremely good as well: 0BC Fill 3Turns / Reduce DMG (50%) 3Turns / 50% Chance Angel Idol 100% HP (ALL) 90Turns / Gradual Heal FULL (ALL) 3Turns, man I sweat every time I realize how god like she is... I'm not even done yet with a ES of Nullifying status so you don't need to give her a status nullify sphere and angel idol buff when HP<20% she is literally everything. Overall a great all around unit, if you need like almost every buff in the game get Charla.

Quartz
|
One of the newest units to be added to Global, Quartz has probably the best HoT as of now (In Global) his leader skill gives a 40% boost, recovers HP every turn, AND his SBB is able to apply a nice HoT buff, quite an interesting unit, his SBB is mainly focused on HP as well, so he has his uses if your units have high HP.

Anima
|
Alyut
|
Alyut not only known for having great HoT, but also great for his 7 BC per turn buff, which can pretty much leave you with no worry about getting no BB on mitigator, with a squad of DEF units, can be great since his DEF -> ATK buff can be used for hitting enemies with more atk then ever. As a Leader, great for mono-light squads, outside of that you won't see him with much uses as leader.

Will
|
The unit who's been mocked back then for being pathetic and not being any good, now he's back and better then ever, confirmed to be the last human to live in Grand Gaia, Will is a great unit for HoT buff, not only does he provide that on SBB he also provides 180% to BB ATK, making him great for finishing bosses faster (especially dark ones), UBB is literally a middle finger up all enemies and especially dark enemies. Overall, he has his uses, has great stats for survival, strong SBB, HoT, mitigation on UBB against dark enemies, and ATK down buff on enemies.

Zedus is your choice. Overall, Zedus is a strong unit focused on crit and spark DMG making him extremely powerful in terms of DMG.

Avant

Hello Vargas's Dad, the newest member to arrive in BF Global. This guy here is pretty good all around as well, even though with a 70% Spark DMG boost on LS, his 150% CRIT DMG boost and 100% BB ATK boost makes up to still do devastating damage on units, and also providing a 30% HP boost to all units can help if you lack HP in a squad (which can also be helpful when using SBB). While he doesn't have have a spark buff on BB/ SBB, he does provide a 25% chance to make enemies have 25% Spark vulnerability, and his 200% BB ATK boost along with converting 15% of your units HP into ATK makes up for not having it. His extra skill also helps with damage providing a ATK boost depending on HP left (50% boost highest) and also gives a 50% ATK when BB is full to self, in order to activate these he must equip dandelga though, making you not being to use any other spark spheres. UBB is also great for pure damage in which is; 1200 - 2000% BB ATK% Based on HP LEFT / 300% CRIT DMG+ , 100% Spark DMG+ 100% BB ATK%+. Overall great unit to have if you need lots and lots of damage.

Zenia

Known as Gazia's "puppet", even though Zedus runs her over, she still has her uses nonetheless. (when not using critical DMG) Able to have a paired spark buff and spark fill BB buff Leader Skill, making her a great unit to use for let's say, Frontier Hunter for 1 hit rounds. The special part about her that makes her better then all the other spark buffers, is the BB ATK boost, her LS, SBB, and UBB BB ATK boost is no joke, having one of the strongest ones and making it able to nuke things faster then most other spark buffers can't.

Rhoa
|
Another new spark buffer, cept not as high damage, but still quite good. Giving a 30% HP boost allowing to take more hits and a spark buff and fill BB gauge when sparking on leader skill, he can be good when combined with right enemies and units. While on SBB adding elements (mentioned before depending on enemies) of thunder and earth and a additional 70% spark buff, he can do a quite good amount of damage (also ignore DEF effect on when ES unlocked allowing more DMG). He isn't just DMG either he can help multiple enemies do lower damage with possible chance of spark debuff which can help if lots of enemies in area that spark like crazy. Overall, great unit to have as support (HP boost) and attacker.

CRIT BUFFERS LS/ BB/ SBB/ UBB

A great unit to have even though he only boosts Crit DMG on leader skill by 150%, his 70% Spark DMG, and 100% BB ATK% make up for the damage. On BB, he has a 60% Crit DMG buff allowing in more damage, though his SBB doesn't, but does provide a 200% BB ATK%, Convert 15% HP to ATK buffs which should make up for the lack of crit dmg. UBB gives crazy amount of damage as well with a 300% Crit DMG buff and 1200 - 2000% BB ATK% Based on HP LEFT, 100% Spark DMG+ 100% BB ATK%+ buffs making him a great ATK'er/ Offensive unit. Overall if you need someone who can nuke the shit out of enemies, Avant is the guy.

Griff
|
The fiery Ishigria Expedition batch member who died, Griff. Pretty much CRITICAL everywhere. With a 30% HP and ATK boost, and critical fills BB gauge and 150% boost to crit dmg, you can do lots of DMG to enemies that aren't crit resistant. His SBB is crazy good as well, providing a ares buff for faster BB fill and adding two elements (fire and water) AND giving a crit buff, he can be quite useful for nuking down certain enemies that aren't crit resistant. His ES providing 4BC fill on crit for himself and 60% crit buff to self makes him a powerhouse for destroying non-crit-resistant enemies. UBB is quite deadly as well; Fire (AOE) / 300% CRIT DMG+ (ALL) 3Turns / Convert 20% HP to ATK (ALL) 3Turns Overall, We heard you like critical hits.

The dark unit of SBS, Hadaron, whom is all about DMG on bosses. giving a 60% crit buff to all units and 75% crit buff to self (ES, also 50% HP Boost to self), he is a crazy powerhouse on non-crit-resistant enemies, and being able to take things down in like 1-4 turns pretty easily. Leader Skill is quite good too especially in arena, basically it's the weaker you get the stronger you become also is already strong too before losing HP; 20% Chance Ignore DEF (ALL) / 50-400% ATK+ Based on HP LOST (ALL) / 50-50% DEF+ Based on HP LOST (ALL) / 80% ATK (ALL)

IMPORTANT UNITS THAT CAN BE EXTREMELY USEFULE BUT RARELY SEEN ON FRIEND LIST
These are units you don't see as much as let's say Griff, or Zedus, and you need these units more for a sub as well, and your friends decide to put only Griff's meaning you won't need him if you're using him 95% of the time, these are units that you will need frequently, but can't rely on friends due to a lower-class leader skill compared to others.

Probably has one of the most useless Leader skill as 7* and can't do much as Leader, but as a sub, she works wonders. Allowing to mitigate, provide a DEF buff, and heal, Elimo is quite an amazing unit and with her ES you don't even have to worry about not getting BB up all the time, with the proper spheres, 95% of the time SBB will be up even in single enemy battles depending on spheres and your squad.

Leader Skill is quite good as well, with a 30% HP boost and 100%-0 depending HP lost AND a 0-100% DEF boost depending on HP lost, making her leader skill quite good for certain situations, but people will probably end up using better leader skills, (since they're better ones out there.)

Our very own subreddit's artist favorite husbando, Probably the only known unit to have add all elements on SBB. Great unit to have if you're in need for a little more damage to do on enemies, providing all 6 elements when casting SBB. The elemental part of his SBB is also great for Frontier Hunter for fishing for more points (elemental weakness pts) and not only does his SBB add element,it gets better and is also able to fill BB gauge of units of up to 10 BC. Overall, great unit even in the 7* era.

Need a hard hitting good status cleanser? Melchio is the man, you won't see much friends using him and is one of the best status cleanser and great for non-dark elemental SBB. Also great since once God Gate is here, summoning for him will be lower then compared to Kira batch and onwards.

As said before, not so common as Leader and is quite a useful unit (more of a sub unit), not really "needed", but makes certain content easier with SBB of 7 BC fill per turn, HoT, and DEF-> ATK conversion buff, making things easier then before, if you feel like you have every unit needed and need someone for like general support and making content a little bit easier, Alyut is your man.

Grand Master of the Dojo Nemia, Zeln, and etc. goes too. A good unit for arena, due to him giving BC fill when attacking and raising normal hit count by +1 to all units and provides a 80% ATK buff to all units. Also raising hit-count on BB/SBB and provides ATK buff on SBB. On extra skill gives self another hit-count and ignores DEF on enemies when BB/SBB is used. Rahgan is a good unit if you struggle with arena or challenge arena.
