HOW TO PASS TRIAL ERIOLE EX
Hey guys! In this guide, we will be tacking the formidable Eriole EX Trial. Given, this trial will be way easier for us Global players due to the advent of SBS/Global Exclusives/Avant batch, but the trial can still destroy you if you decide to go in blind. With that being said, there are a couple of key HP thresholds to look out for. Let's get started!
Preliminary Information
- Tesla upon release MAY be susceptible to PARALYSIS, which prevents her from summoning Eriole. If so, you can do what the guy in this 6 turn kill video did, which is nuking down Tesla before the 3 turns 100% paralysis infliction rate wears off. In fact, Tesla is not vulnerable to paralysis from 90-100% HP, but is vulnerable under 90%
- You're going to want a status negator for this fight (AKA Krantz/Elimo probably won't suffice) because there will be status ailment reflect present in this fight.
- Like in ToTG, Gazia trial, etc, there is damage reflect. Use your healer last or have a strong HC drop rate buff and a strong HoT.
- Just like Lucius, who we are getting soon, there will be BC drop nullification, where attacks drop 0 BC. You will want a BC on spark unit. In Japan, Rhoa filled this role well. Since Chrome (and Charla as well) are released, they have BB on spark on their BB/SBB and Chrome on LS, so they are excellent units for this fight. Rhoa is still good for his elemental buffs, though.
- Grah is a good lead for his light mitigation and boost to all parameters, but with Gazia and Tridon out, either of these two would also be great options for this trial.
- Along with BB on spark, BB on hit is useful as always for dealing with the turns with 0 BC drops.
- Bring along a high damaging UBB or normal hit count buffs (like Ruby/Zenia) to finish off Eriole/Tesla with normal attacks before they can massive AoE you.
Recommended Unit Roles to Bring
- HP/mitigation leaders
- BB on spark
- BB on hit
- Status cure AND negate
- Mitigation
- Burst heal/HoT
- DEF Buff/DEF convert
- ATK down
- Damage augmenters
Teambuilding
Essentially what I used when it was released in Japan:
- Grah lead
- Ark friend
- Elimo
- Sargavehl
- Libera
- Ruby
(This was the Ruby+Ark normal attack nuke method)
Global Teambuilding
- Tridon lead
- Chrome friend
- Zenia
- Krantz
- Aurelia
- Medina
First Stage: 5* Eriole
Enemy Info
- Eriole 5*: ~2,000,000 HP
- Eriole has damage reflect, so plan accordingly.
- Eriole has some BC/HC resist, which is where BB on hit/BB on spark come in handy in single target situations.
Battle Info
- Normal attack first turn to get your BB gauges up.
- Above 50% HP, Eriole has a weak damage reflect.
- Below 50% HP, Eriole's damage reflect is stronger, so watch out.
- Nothing too significant this form. Eriole will do a massive AoE like Ark's 50% HP AoE which brings your units down to 1 HP. Eriole does this when he hits 70% and 50% HP.
- Eriole has ST nukes that kill a unit at 40% HP and 20% HP. With Gazia/Grah/Tridon, you can survive them without UBB, but it will be risky/RNG prone. He seems to do these multiple times under 50% HP.
Second Stage: Tesla 6* and 6* Eriole
Enemy Info
- Tesla 6* : ~3,000,000 HP
- Eriole 6*: ~3,500,000 HP
- Both have some form of BC/HC resist and resists elemental buffs.
- They have BB damage resist and 100% BC drop debuff.
- Eriole retains his damage reflect buff up in his 6* form.
- Tesla has elemental shields that reduces incoming damage, making her difficult to kill. They mitigate damage from all elements.
Battle Info
- Tesla appears and doesn't do anything special until she hits 90% HP, where she will summon Eriole 6*.
- Tesla does a heavy AoE at 50% HP.
- Eriole does a massive AoE at ~50% HP. This hits hard and can kill without UBB mitigation/mitigation LS. This best option is to use UBB mitigation. Alternatively, you can nuke Eriole down from 50% HP to 0% to avoid his threshold/Angel Idol.
- Under 50% HP, Eriole starts doing heavy ST attacks dealing ~75 of your unit health in damage.
- Both Eriole and Tesla get an Angel Idol buff when Tesla hits 30% HP. If you can nuke them down before they hit 30% HP, that would be ideal.
- When Tesla hits 30% HP, Eriole does an AoE that fully drains your BB gauge. Fujin your mitigator and move on.
- Ideally, you want to kill Tesla first to reduce incoming damage, especially when Eriole is low on HP.
- Eriole does a massive AOE with buff wipe at ~10% HP. He does this after he revives as well. Use your UBB nuke to activate his angel idol, then kill him for good. Ruby+Ark is ideal due to BB damage resist (think Challenge Arena reduced BB damage)
- After you make both of them revive, focus on killing them ASAP! High damaging UBB helps here.
Reward
Congrats! You beat this trial! Here is your shiny new sphere, a combination of Spark Damage and Survival.
- Infidelity Orb (Japanese name Katedaiku) (15% boost to all parameters, 100% boost to Spark Damage, Spark type sphere)
Conclusion
Thanks to AppInvasion and this sub for their collection of data when the trial was first released in Japan. Without them, this guide wouldn't be as complete as it is now.
If you guys have any additions you feel like you can make or errors I made in my guide then comment them and I'll add them to the guide! Thanks for your help and good luck during this trial!
